Now, I'm not wanting political talking points, I don't want the "Blame Bush" drivel, I don't want glossed over points. I just want a simple answer...

What makes Obama qualified to be President of the United States?

What makes anyone qualified?

In my opinion I think putting a regular every day joe blow in that office may work just as well since the president does not have complete control and has advisors to listen to. Now I am not saying to put someone in there who doesn't have an education and doesn't understand all the legaleaze.

I don't know if Obama is qualified any more than McCain is. They can both make promises and give a good story. It is the follow through that is important. I have yet to see any politician keep all their promises after being elected.
So I can't tell you what makes Obama more qualified than anyone else.
Maybe comparing track records of Obama and McCain's first year in the senate would be a good idea? Then listing them.

But doesn't Mccain have more experience in congress?

I agree, we need regular people in office, but right now given the world political climate, we need someone with a little more qualifications.

Obama was a community organizer (not a big job), then a state senator for a few (Which he wasn't there most of the time, and usually voted no, never wrote a bill), and a federal senator for 3 years. So far, that's his resume. Atleast all I can find.

Ok but what would make McCain more qualified? From what I have read we would have about the same as we do now.
I think things need to change so why not give Obama a chance to make that change? In 4 years we can vote him out.

Mccain (Who I did NOT vote for) has for international relations experience, more experience with the government in general (which can be detrimental if used incorrectly), Government experience wise, Mccain is it.

This is all Obamas site lists:

law degree from Harvard in 1991
president of the Harvard Law Review
practice as a civil rights lawyer (Minor role as a community organizer, not an actual lawyer)
taught constitutional law (Which is crap, cause if he actually did, he would realize the constitution does not authorize ANYTHING he's proposing)
State Senate, where he served for eight years (Mostly absent)
Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families (Like what happened nationally by a republican, and the bill was proposed by a Rep.)
He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress. (Which didn't work)
a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.(which is already in the constitution anyway)
In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.
As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan(Didn't work that well.)

There is not one Fortune 500 company that would make Obama the CEO. He simply does not have the experience or qualifications for the job.
Obama mania reminds me of an episode of Will & Grace. Yes I like that show. Anyway, they are getting active in some election. Will throws a fundraiser for the gay candidate and Grace throws one for the Jewish Woman. They have the fundraisers and find that the two people are just raving lunatics with radical views. They get depressed and decide not to vote...until Jack comes in and tells them he voted. They ask him who for and he says the black guy. Will and Grace look at each other and say there's a black guy! They then go running for the door to go vote.

So Obama is a fantastic speaker, black and liberal. That is enough for the Democrats. I mean it is not like they can expect a candidate with quality ideas for our country. So well spoken black and liberal should do quite nicely. Along with his connections... Tony Rezko, William Ayers, and Rashid Khalidi.

Mccain:

First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982
was elected to the United States Senate in 1986, after serving two terms in the U.S. House.
In November 2004, Senator McCain was overwhelmingly reelected with nearly 77 percent of the vote.
attended college at the United States Naval Academy, and launched a 22-year career as a naval aviator upon his graduation
John retired from the Navy in 1981. His naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
In the Senate, John continued to demand that Congress put an end to loopholes for special interests and fix the broken system in Washington that too often allows lobbyists to write legislation and members of Congress to waste taxpayer money. (Ofcourse the other politicians wouldn't listen, including Obama)

Voting Records:

(Mccain.)

(Obama has ALOT more Non votes than mccain...)

If that is all then that doesn't really make him qualified either.

I didn't say he was, but he's more qualified (IMHO).

People compare Obamas qualifications to JFKs (they compare those 2 ALOT), but JFK had 2ce the amount of time in the senate than Obama. Same with lincoln. Obama's not even done with his first term yet.

And that is a problem????
If I had been looked at in that way I would never have been given the chance to be an Editor of a world wide publication. Of which I brought out of the hole finicially. I really had very little experiene.
My fahter always side you can have all the degrees in the world but they don't always make you smart.

What about doing a list of what Obama and McCain has done and list them side by side???? Of course site your sources. If we can keep this on a non personal level I think that would be great!
